Very very good simple and get to to the point review !! Great work !!
One quick question, I heard the built-in sensor IS crop the video a bit , is that true, the file won’t be a true 1080P after using IS ?

Does peaking effects the image, video??

The Image Stabilisation from sony is only good in stills.. in video it’s not so good with tele-zoom’s (more wobbling). But still very good in the standard range (24-70/18-50)

How long can video record before it overheats? Does it record the inner gear sounds of the lens when auto-focus is activated? What kind of lens was used for the stills you showed?

Is a99 video quality better than a77?

Is it possible to put on better mic on a77? I watched videos about a77 and a99 but didn’t understand why new hotshoe on a99 is better. Does that new hotshoe power the mic? Will i be able to record movies with better mic maunted on a77?

Until I saw standard hotshoe, I wasn’t really paying attention. Now I want. Such a simple thing because a company listened has generated a future sale. Love the screen. Great for tripod use. The image stabilisation works and the monochrome mode is, well, awesome.
I now must buy this camera. A ‘stepped’ zoom lock would make it perfect.

I like this review. Instead of showing a lot of your face talking you actually show a lot of images and videos from the camera!

Blunty is there a way i can get/buy copies of you Sydney Shots. I would have so many as my desktop images

I agree better bang for your buck with a77. Sensor shift rules, I think ppl tend to underestimate this factor when comparing Sony to other brands. No need to buy lens with vibration reduction, body does it all. Keep up the good work with your reviews. I really enjoy them!

I don’t like the form factor of this DSLR, or any of the high en Sony DSLRs for the matter. The way Sony tries to “hide” the viewfinder by softening the edges around it, it just makes it look fat (I said “look”). What’s wrong with the sharp edges like the one found in Sony a35?

I think that was Pedro’s point.

new lenses with quality glass can cost hundreds. An adapter + an quality old lens can be found for under $50. If autofocus if not of priority, old lenses are the bomb in value.
