Polaroid Close Up Filter Test Part

This slideshow was shot using the Polaroid 4 piece close up filter set. The camera used was my Panasonic Lumix FZ35 using its fullest zoom range. Although not a real scientific test, hopefully it gives an impression of the use of these filters and does show what my own experience has been with them, namely, that the low diopters +1 & +2 give the best quality images.

Fresh out of the package! That’s why it went back. Judging by the loose parts on the outside there was no doubt in my mind that something was not right internally. Tried every setting there was and this is what it looked like.

  9. ok but al cameras have different light ranges in which they are made to work in , i have even run some so caled good ones and find they were worse, all camcorders and webcams are different in how they works the basic idea is the same in all of them but they all have different light requirments and alot of to have the file go threw an editor to clean them up and then you have the quaility of the lens’s and you can get a bad one or 2 in a batch as well.

Right, so if the vid I shot is already distorted and off color to begin with, it’s not saying much. It allows for full screen crap. You can see the difference between the camcorder and webcam. My webcam is not HD, only cost half as much, and manages to pick up the moderate light just fine. It just wasn’t a good bargain in my opinion.

Used both settings and it wasn’t that different. There was natural light in the room between the kitchen and going outside but you couldn’t see a thing. It’s far from the HD quality that it boasts of and not worth the original price they sell for ($80). I wouldn’t use it for much more than filming my dog sleeping, but hey, to each his own.

  13. you have it in macro mode which is only for close up only which is why you have blurr you never use the macro mod unless your with in 2 feet of what your recording, also it is light reliant as all camera and camcorders are.the problem in this is the operator.. you do get what you pay for to a degree. i have the same one and i have no issues at all with mine if iam in low light area i add light as needed and it does a great job,and out doors its awesome

  14. Ok, and dummy me, without even thinking, made that post yesterday not realizing that you used another camcorder to film the second part of the video (not one of my brighter moments, LOL).

It was 720p but I used standard editing software settings. It’s reddish and grainy either way. Looked this way on the camera itself, when transferred directly to my computer, and after publishing.

  16. Are you sure this was set on 720p? Because I see there is no option here on youtube to view it on 720p, and there should be if it was. I think you may have had it set on 480p. It is an easy mistake to make on this camcorder.

Glad I could be of some assistance! You kind of get what you pay for when it comes to camcorders. I’ve tried the Jazz and the Jazz HD from Big Lots. Both were better than the Polaroid. Outdoor quality and audio was decent, impressive actually for the price.($20-$45). Built-in light for indoor recording, BUT no rechargeable battery, the zoom is loud and picks up on the mic, and it doesn’t have built-in memory. However, it is the lesser of the two evils. Hope that helped. :)

  18. LOL Its funny you said this camera is good for kids 5-8 bec I am getting this camera for my daughter who will be turning 8 in Jan. I am thinking about taking it back tho. Since I still want her to have some what of a nice camera. I hate the lighting it gives & when you were recording from outside it looked blurry to me :/ What camera do you think is the best under $50? This camera was already wrapped under my xmas tree but I forgot what kind it was so I unwrapped it lol. Thanks for this review
