John Summits Southern California's Mt. Baldy

John is right behind his friend, Bill as they make the last volley to the 10,014 ft. summit. The hike took 9 hours.

Rescued Hummingbird

John has been involved with the rehabilitation of a hummingbird . He took care of him for two weeks and then transported him to Moonridge Animal Park .

John enjoys the holiday doing what he does best.

The squirrels are letting John use their yard ...for now.

Spring is Here in the Mojave!

The blooms have just started. This may be a banner year for wildflowers due to the snow in December and the rain in early 2009. Look for more Spring pictures coming soon.

Shana goes on almost all of John's desert photographic field trips. If she's lucky, she gets a chance to induldge in her favorite pastime.

Fairview Valley Formation

Fairview Valley is one of John's favorite places to photograph. The locals refer to the formation as "Roostercomb Ridge."

Victor Valley Air Show 2008

The air show, held at Apple Valley Airport September 28 was the biggest yet of the annual event. There were food and craft vendors as well as many exhibits, such as the predator and this vintage Navy bomber.

Lake Greogory

Everyone's familiar with Big Bear Lake, Lake Arrowhead and Silverwood Lake in the San Bernadino Mountains, but there is also another lake. On Labor Day, when the entry line at Silverwood was backed up for two miles, we went ten minutes up the mountain to Crestline, where Lake Gregory was virtually deserted! Shana went swimming.
